A recent court decision forced the Small Business Administration (SBA) to release personally identifiable information for each PPP loan. It is important to note that AgCountry Farm Credit Services did not have a role in releasing this information.
Several websites/media outlets are publishing previously redacted personal information for each PPP loan:
- Loan amount
- Lender name
- Veteran Status
- Business Type
As always, AgCountry Farm Credit Services strongly recommends loan customers closely scrutinize any communications regarding SBA loans or any financial matters to ensure authenticity. Also, monitor your credit reports for any unusual activity.
Bad actors (individual or entity that is part of a fraudulent activity) may use the information published by the SBA from the court-ordered data release to market themselves to PPP customers. You should be aware that AgCountry will communicate directly with you about your PPP loan and the forgiveness process. If you receive any inquiries that you suspect are not from AgCountry, please call your loan officer directly.
