2022 Spring Projected Prices

Soybeans
08 Mar 2022

Projected prices, also known as base prices, are set for the following 2022 crops.  These prices establish your minimum dollar coverage for Revenue Protection (RP) policies. They also represent the set price for Yield Protection (YP) policies.

The projected prices for 2022 came in higher. Both corn and wheat are at the second highest level in history. Soybeans topped a record high as a result of higher commodity prices.

The base prices are as follows for common crops grown in our association:

Commodity Price
 Barley $5.35/bushel
 Canola $0.303/pound
 Canola (rapeseed type) $0.0423/pound
 Corn $5.90/bushel
 Soybeans $14.33/bushel
 Oil Sunflowers $0.324/pound
 Conf. Sunflowers $0.405/pound
 Spring Wheat $9.19/bushel
 Durum Wheat $9.44/bushel

These higher base prices should allow producers to cover their costs and expectations with the level of insurance that fits their operational needs. March 15, 2022 is the final date to make any changes to your multi-peril crop insurance policy. This includes coverage levels with appropriate options, entity changes, etc.  The list of crop insurance options has evolved over the last few years. At AgCountry, we evaluate these for you so that the right options fit your operation.
